Memorial Day Weekend

On May 29, Sam and i were invited by some friends from work to go see the Bar J Wranglers in Jackson Hole. I'll have to admit, i didn't expect to enjoy it particularly much...
But I loved it :) even if you don't like country music you must go see them. Plus it's dinner and a show for about $20 a person, not bad at all :)

Then we decided to spend the night in Jackson because my family was already there for the weekend with some friends, so they got us a room in the same hotel they were staying in.
The rooms were the absolute smallest hotel rooms I've ever seen! lol

The next morning we went to Bubba's barbeque for breakfast. I had the best breakfast burrito of my life, and Nathan had pancakes the size of hubcaps lol.

Then we went to Yellowstone National Park. The last time I was there was when I was quite young, and I ended up sleeping through most of it, so this time I was determined to get something out of it.

We drove for a while without anything particularly interesting to see, then we went to see Old Faithful. I remembered from when I was little how spectacular Old Faithful was, so I was pretty excited. Then after standing around for 15 minutes or more, it started to steam... then it made a bigger steam cloud... then... squirt... that was it? lol

Then, much to my excitement, on our way out of the park we saw much more wildlife, so we started counting. In total we saw:

  • 1 antelope
  • 1 eagle
  • 19 elk
  • 7 deer
  • 1 wolf
  • 1 swan
  • 26 buffalo/bison (there's some debate over what they're actually called lol)

Rockin' Awesome Patio

Sam was at drill from May 18 to 28, and while he was gone I planned a little surprise for him...

(unfortunately I don't have photos right now, but I will post them as soon as I can)

I Decked out our little patio and made it the coolest one in our complex :)

When he came home and I showed him my suprise, we lit out little charcoal grill and cooked up some of the best burgers I've ever had.

Cirque du Soleil

On May 19th Mom and I went to see Cirque du Soleil in Salt Lake.

IT

WAS

AMAZING!

It was the most beautiful, entertaining thing i've ever seen. The accrobats make swinging from the ceiling and bending over backwards look as easy as walking.
My favorite act was the aerial high bar. It was insane!
